The
parallel output Inductosyn® to digital converter is supplied as a circuit board.
The user must supply a suitable mounting and a power supply. The parallel output
converter operates based on the Inductosyn transducer cycle. The output is a binary
representation of the position within the particular transducer cycle, and thus repeats
for each cycle. The user's equipment must keep count of the number of cycles of
motion, as well as the starting position within the first cycle. The parallel output
converter is supplied in models that divide the cycle into 1024, 4096, 16384, or 65536
parts. The outputs are 10, 12, 14, or 16 TTL signal lines. A
"freeze" input is provided to insure that the signal levels are not changing
while the outputs are being read. Farrand converter model 219060 is of this type.
